The Objectives of the Association are:

  • To  provide  a  central  organization  for  Medical  Representatives  which  will  generally  safeguard  the  interests,  integrity  and professional status of such Medical Representatives.

  • To  promote  the  professional  standing,  efficiency,  proper  conduct  and  good  reputation  of  Medical  Representatives  with  a view  to  ensuring  the  existence  of  a  class  of  Medical  Representatives  in  Malta  who  can  be  relied  upon  to  perform  their duties in accordance with the highest ethical standards adopted by the Association. 

  • To  facilitate  the  objectives  of  Medical  detailing,  that  is  contact  with  the  Medical  Profession  both  in  private  and  in Government hospitals and clinics.

  • To collect and disseminate amongst its members information regarding matters affecting Medical Representatives.

  • To  enter  into  discussions  and  negotiations  with  Government  Authorities,  parastatal  bodies,  commercial  partnerships, private firms,   labour   unions,   associations   of   other   persons   in   all   matters   concerning   the   interests   of   Medical Representatives  and  to  assist  or  co-operate  with  such  entities  in  all  matters  considered  to  be  of  direct  or  indirect  benefit to Medical Representatives and to the Association.

  • To  monitor  and  make  representations  to  members  of  Parliament,  Government  officials  and  political  parties  regarding any  legislation  or  decision  which  may  directly  or  indirectly  affect  the  status,  employment  and  interests  of  Medical Representatives or of the Association.

  • To  promote  or  petition  for  any  legislation  which  purports  to  protect,  recognise  or  in  any  other  manner  improve  the  role and condition of the Medical Representatives or the Association.h.  To  present  and  publicise  its  views  and  opinions  or  any  other  matter  whatsoever  in  the  media  or  to  educate  the  general public on the role, profession and purpose of Medical Representatives and the Association.

  • To  invest  and  turn  into  account  any  moneys  for  the  time  being  not  required  by  the  Association,  by  placing  the  same  on deposit with any Bank or in such other manner as the Council shall deem appropriate.

  • To  purchase,  rent,  lease,  hold  or  otherwise  acquire  and  dispose  of  any  property,  movable  of  immovable,  for  the  purpose of running the Association in such manner as is considered expedient.

  • To  borrow  or  raise  money  or  other  securities  for  the  purpose  of  securing  any  debt  or  obligation  of  the  Association,  and  to hypothecate and charge all or any part of the property of the Association.

  • To  enter  into  any  arrangements  with  any  governmental  authority,  or  other  constituted  authority,  person  or  Company, and  to  obtain  therefrom  and  rights,  privileges,  contracts,  licences  and  concessions  which  the  Association  may  think  are desirable to obtain and to carry out, exercise and comply therewith.

  • To  affiliate  or  co-operate  with  any  association,  society  or  corporation  in  any  part  of  the  world,  and  generally  to  establish and pursue international contacts with other similar associations.

  • To do all such acts as are ancillary or connected or incidental to any of the above aims.
